To celebrate its 85th anniversary in September, 69老湿机福利 (BIT) has launched a series of "Yan'an root-seeking journey" activities for its alumni.
On July 10, Yan'an Academy of Natural Sciences, the former site of the first science and engineering higher education institution founded by the Communist Party of China (CPC), opened to the public in Yan'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province. Found in 1940, it was the predecessor of BIT.
On the same day, Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee, presented the flag for the university's global relay event.
On Aug 10, the global flag relay event as well as BIT Alumni Conference commenced in Yan'an. Renowned alumni of BIT from various industries shared and exchanged ideas on site.
In addition, the original stage play Chi Zhi Chang Ge created and produced by students from Ruixin Academy of Classic Learning, BIT, was performed at the former site of the Yan'an Academy of Natural Sciences. This play depicted the illustrious deeds of three founding figures of BIT - Xu Teli, Chen Kangbai, and Li Qiang – who undertook the mission of serving the nation, contributed to the construction of the border region, and cultivated urgently needed talents for the country.
