The College of Business bridges the gap between academics and professional success through innovative programs and strategic partnerships. Through specialized programs, including industry-focused micro-credentials and minors, students gain expertise in high-demand fields. These programs combine rigorous coursework with practical experiences guided by industry leaders.

One standout program is Supply Chain and Transportation Management, supported by ITS Logistics and led by Robyn Brunscher. It provides students with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in a rapidly growing industry. With a 94% job placement rate, graduates secure positions at globally recognized companies. Strong ties to northern Nevada’s business community offer students valuable mentorship and real-world career opportunities.

Another key offering is the Risk and Insurance program, supported by the Nevada Surplus Lines Foundation and led by David Cisneros. It equips students with technical skills and industry best practices for careers in corporate risk management, employee benefits, and insurance. Students pursuing a minor benefit from mentorship with local professionals. Since its inception, the program has placed more than 50 students in full-time industry roles.

The Sports Management program, supported by Dixie May ’01 (honorary doctorate of humane letters), the Las Vegas Raiders and the Nell J. Redfield Foundation, allows students to pursue careers in the sports industry. Led by Cary Groth, it offers both an undergraduate minor and a graduate-level executive certificate. Students gain access to industry experts for insights into sports management and intercollegiate athletics. With a 90% success rate, graduates secure new roles or earn promotions.

Beyond the classroom, the College emphasizes experiential learning and workforce development. In 2024, its Career and Corporate Outreach Center connected more than 5,000 students with top employers through career events, leading to internships and job opportunities. Programs like Wolf Pack Shadow provide behind-the-scenes access to local businesses, enhancing career exploration. The Industry Insider Speaker Series brings accomplished business leaders to campus.

The BizFit program provides firstyear students with professional development workshops and team-building activities during their first week, helping them build strong foundations for their academic and professional journey. Looking ahead, the College will open the John Tulloch Business Building in fall 2025. This state-of-the-art facility will foster collaboration and innovation, featuring advanced labs, flexible classrooms, and areas for hosting industry events.

The College is also launching the Aerospace and Defense Academy, funded by Eren Ozmen ’85 MBA, ’16 (honorary doctorate of humane letters), and Fatih Ozmen ’81 M.S. (electrical engineering), ’16 (honorary doctorate of humane letters), of Sierra Nevada Corporation. Located within the Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship, the Academy focuses on building a skilled workforce and supporting small businesses, including women-owned enterprises, in aerospace and defense.
